thursday beauty

midautumn festival celebrations we had to today. actually it wasnt really a celebration. but we had riddles and treasure hunt. cool. i was 1 of the 5 who rep. the class for the hunt. but unfortunately due to a malfunction of my eyes, neither shayrer nor i could find the word. so sad. :'( then its like bella dinny and evil could. waaaaaaaaaaa.. haha. in the end our class won for sec2!! and we were cheering ALOT. so many screams. and gerald was standing outside the class preparing to go get the prize-"sure win one!" lol. but we did! (:
it turned out to be files. bleahx. ekk. at least give us mooncake or something else right? haiz. nvm. i got orange! (: today we had several birthdays too! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ALL WHOSE BDAY IS TODAY! ((:

anw, i would like to touch on

BEAUTY

yeah well, its gonna be short i think. so yup. beauty is in fact a very vague word. like i can say that a scenery of a sun rising over the horizon is beautiful, a woman like say audrey hepburn is beautiful, and it is possible for one to speak of an act of kindness like helping an elderly person cross the road as something beautiful. it is fine to tell a person who has ugly features beautiful too right? for beauty is made up of so many parts, it is not very accurate to just point to anything ive mentioned above and say that is beauty.

anyone can question, are u sure? as for the scenery's case, another can always point out that there is some other place with more beautiful scenery. in that of the woman, some may criticise and say "ur definition of beauty is superficial and shallow". of course the act of kindness- "what beauty is involved in it?" some may ask. how abt the "ugly" person? what beauty is there? no offence though. Thus, beauty should not stand alone; instead it should be followed with words like physical or inner, behavioral or scenic. erm- please correct me if there's any mistake. (:

why is it that while scenic beauty is beautiful, but not physical beauty? as in, why is physical b. considered by some as superficial and not scenic? after all, scenic is just but for the eyes. both are given by Mother Nature(lets say they are), but why is only deemed shallow, but the other not? is that not unfair?

why is an act of kindness considered beautiful? to me, it is because kindness comes from within, and thats an indication of inner beauty, and so can an "ugly" person be beautiful, for there may be a good character within the person. why is this type of beauty not considered shallow? or superficial? why not then?

because inner beauty is more important than physical beauty? of course it is good to possess inner beauty, but what if u dont have it but u have physical beauty? then u are of less importance than those who have inner beauty? or perhaps u arent as good.

when u describe something as beautiful, u are displaying appreciation of beauty. so when u say that she is beautiful, u are appreciating the beauty she possesses. but then u will be referring to a different kind of beauty when u mention that the scenery is beautiful or he helping the blind person cross the road is beauty, or that person has beauty. cos they are all different, it is impossible to compare either 2 fairly; its just like comparing a cat and a dog. neither will it be possible to say that physical beauty is shallow, as beauty is a subjective topic; one may view a certain something as beautiful, but another may not.

that is my personal opinion of erm- beauty? haha. well, im trying to remain objective, if i even am, but anw, please do share ur thoughts. thank u. ((:
